How To Link your NIN to your MTN Number

To link your NIN Number to your MTN mobile number is by using the mobile shortcode (*785#) created for MTN users by MTN Network. The *785# created by MTN is by far the best and easiest way to link NIN to your MTN number.

  • Visit MTN online NIN portal
  • Fill in your First Name, Last Name, Middle Name (optional), Phone Number, NIN, and Email Number.
  • Then “submit”.

To link your NIN using your Mobile Number:

  • Dial *785#, wait for the window prompt stating to input your 11 Digit National Identification Number.
  • Input the 11 Digit National Identification Number Then send. A window will pop-up stating “your NIN has been successfully received”.

Another way to Link NIN number to Glo number is simply sending ‘UPDATENIN NIN FirstName and LastName’ to 109  e.g ‘UPDATENIN 12345678903 Paul Peter’ to 109.”

To link your NIN Number to your Airtel mobile number is by using the mobile short code *121# on your airtel line and follow the prompt on your mobile device to link the NIN number to your Airtel number. Check through the steps below:

  1. Dial *121#
  2. Press 1 for NIN capture
  3. Input your 11 Digit NIN.
  4. A confirmation pop-up will appear stating you have successfully linked your mobile number.

To link your NIN number to your Etisalat/9Mobile number is by visiting the  Etisalat NIN portal to fill the form to link your NIN to your Etisalat mobile number. You can also link your NIN to 9Mobile number by visiting the nearest 9Mobile outlet with your NIMC form (Or your NIN number) and your 9Mobile sim pack.

To check if your National Identity Number (NIN) card is ready, visit the National Identity Management Commission [NIMC] website

Scroll down the homepage and click on ‘e-ID Card Status Portal’ to check if your card is ready and now available at the activation centre.

After, fill in your first name, last name and your NIMC check tracking ID and hit the ‘check now’ icon button.
